  • Pilates Manager
  • B. Physiotherapy (Monash University 2008)
  • Pilates Practitioner & Mentor (Polestar)
  • Certified Yoga Teacher (Sivananda 2012)
  • ConnectTherapy(TM) Trained (2013-2016)

Joh has over 10 years-experience working in the field of Physiotherapy and mindful movement practices (Pilates & Yoga). She has completed many physiotherapy professional development courses, with the list getting too long for a bio. Joh uses manual/soft tissue therapy, dry needling, craniosacral therapy, motor control retraining, mindfulness, and exercise-based rehabilitation, in treatment sessions.

Joh’s passion in Physio is treating the whole person/whole body and creating a space where clients can connect with and learn about their body (injury/pain) and how to get the most out of it.

In recent years Joh has undergone extensive training programs that support this “holistic” approach such as ConnectTherapy™ (biopsychosocial framework) and Thoracic Ring Approach™. The Thoracic Ring Approach™ is a technique created by LJ Lee that treats the upper back as a functional 3D unit, including techniques to release (sometimes un recognised) tension and regain optimal control and function of one of the biggest parts of the body – the trunk. Joh has facilitated on LJ Lees’ courses when run in Australia over the past 5 years.

Joh completed the full rehab series with Polestar Pilates along with the mentor training and is now a Mentor for Polestar facilitating the teacher training courses in Melbourne. Additionally, Joh studied Yoga in India with an intensive teacher training at the Sivananda Ashram. She has completed additional training in Yoga Therapy with Simon Borg Olivier a world-renowned Yoga Teacher and educator from Sydney.

Joh is passionate about leading an active, happy, and meaningful life and loves helping her clients do the same. Always keen to try new things, so when not at work you may find her rock climbing, SUP, yoga, chakra dancing, ice bathing or walking her pup Zen down the beach.
