Elaine is one of our senior physiotherapists and the lead clinical Pilates instructor at SMPC. She graduated as a physiotherapist from the University of Limerick in 2008, and recently furthered her qualifications with a Masters in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy from the University of Queensland in 2017.Elaine has over ten years experience working in spinal, sports and rehabilitative physiotherapy across Ireland, New Zealand and Australia. Elaine is a strong believer in managing pain and injury through movement and control. Fully certified under the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute, Elaine has found the integration of Pilates into rehabilitation programmes invaluable in returning clients not only to pre-injury level, but helping them to achieve their own personal goals. Her focus lies in tailoring treatment to specific client needs, with an emphasis on integrating Pilates into daily life through increased body awareness, strength, alignment and control. As a runner and fitness enthusiast, Elaine understands the importance and challenge of maintaining a strong, healthy body and mind for performance, as well as for the management and prevention of pain and injury.

Elaine’s post-graduate studies have led to her developing a special interest in Women’s Health physiotherapy including the management of bladder and bowel dysfunction, prolapse, pelvic girdle pain and pre- and post-natal recovery and return to exercise.
